Information for New Patients

The purpose of the first visit is to determine your complaints and symptoms, as well as come up with a comprehensive treatment plan to address your concerns. New patients to Gateway Chiropractic should expect an initial evaluation and examination, which usually lasts between 45 minutes and an hour. Depending on the initial evaluation and discussion you have with Dr. Finseth, a treatment may or may not occur during your first visit.

We request that new patients arrive approximately 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment time in order to fill out the appropriate paperwork. Insurance copayments, if applicable, are due at the time of your visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

The following is a list of questions that are frequently asked by new patients. If you have any additional questions, or would like clarification on any of the below information, please feel free to contact us via email at: gateway@finsethgroup.com or via phone at: (503) 252-8301.
What do chiropractors do?
Chiropractic physicians help to restore proper spinal biomechanics and improved nervous system function. Dr. Finseth's practice takes these fundamentals and uses them to recommend a holistic, all-encompassing treatment, which will realign balance in your body - inside and out. Whereas many chiropractors focus just on adjusting the spine, Dr. Finseth also works with her patients to ensure a healthy body and mind. Her practice centralizes around the idea that one's entire body must be eased into a natural working balance in order to achieve maximum health.
What is an adjustment?
A chiropractic adjustment is the art of applying precise pressure to joints which have become fixed and/or aren't moving properly.  This encourages healthy movement and helps the bones and joints gradually return to their natural, normal position — ultimately resulting in improved overall health. There are many ways to adjust the spine and body. Dr. Finseth's approach is one that is safe and gentle. She specializes in patients with acute pain, specific trauma - such as that associated with a car accident - and patients who prefer a natural, non-jarring, and soft yet effective technique.
What is microcurrent?
Microcurrent is an electrical modality treatment which is used in conjunction with chiropractic care. It is subsensory and cannot be felt while it is being delivered. A variety of complaints can be helped by this combination of practice. Some examples might include the relief of pain, stimulating regeneration of injured tissue, stimulating lymphatic flow, and relieving myofascial trigger points. Dr. Finseth uses microcurrent with many of her patients to treat a wide variety of physical and emotional symptoms and complaints.

Do you accept my insurance?
We do work with most major insurance companies; however, please double-check with your insurance plan and ensure that they will cover your visits with Dr. Finseth and Gateway Chiropractic. We are dedicated to working with you and your insurance company to ensure that you receive the maximum benefits available to you. Yet as each insurance company offers several different plans, and each plan differs from patient to patient, we request that you please contact your insurance company to determine whether or not your specific plan covers chiropractic care. Some plans also require pre-authorization before beginning chiropractic care. Check with your insurance company if you're unsure whether or not this applies to you. Please note that insurance co-payments are due at the time of your visit.
How much do you charge?
Gateway Chiropractic is proud to be one of the most reasonably priced chiropractic offices in the area. As we are a full service insurance billing company, patients with chiropractic insurance coverage should expect to cover just their insurance co-payment amount. Patients treating at our office as a result of an automobile accident typically face no out of pocket expenses, as we bill automobile insurance carriers directly. (Contact us for more information.)

Generally speaking, patients without insurance or those who prefer to pay out-of-pocket should expect the first visit to be between $85.00 and $130.00 with subsequent visits ranging between $45.00 and $95.00 per visit, depending on the level of care and type of treatment(s) needed.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes. We accept payment in the form of cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, or Discover.
